House sharing in Crawley is becoming increasingly popular, especially for those just moving to the area for work at Gatwick Airport or at one of the many other big employers in the Crawley area. When moving to a new place, especially when coming from miles away – sometimes from the other side of the country – lots of people find the prospect of meeting new people quite daunting. That’s why co-living in Crawley is such a great option. Meeting friends through a houseshare is an easy way to settle in quickly and start a happy new life.

Crawley is a really up-and-coming town, with so much to do close by, that it’s perfect for building a lively social life without the costs associated with living in London or Brighton. Whatever your preference for a good time, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Crawley with friends and housemates. Here are just a few of them:

Nightlife In Crawley

If bars, pubs and nightclubs are your thing, then you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to nightlife in Crawley. Check out The Hive for daily happy hours from 5 to 10pm – and for the real nightowls, it’s open till 3am. Things To Do With Friends In Crawley

Travel yourself interesting

Okay, so we are cheating Crawley itself a bit here, but it would be foolish to ignore one of its greatest assets just a £5 cab drive away: London Gatwick Airport. This gateway to Europe can have you eating steak by a Marina in Portugal in just 3hrs – and flights start at a mere £60! With Easyjet, British Airways and Flybe (to mention a few) flying to hundreds of short haul destinations daily, whether it be a 3 day beach blast or a more cultural tour of some old towns, co-living in Crawley gives you an abundance of affordable options for that perfect Instagram pic.

Tilgate Park

Fancy a bit of treetop fun? Why not have a day out with your housemates at Go Ape in Tilgate Park? If you don’t mind heights but love a good zipline and a bit of a laugh, this is a definite must. Once you’re done with your Go Ape adventure, take a walk across the park and check out the myriad activities on offer. Visit the animals at Tilgate Nature Centre to have a chat with Terry the talking raven, enjoy a spot of paddleboarding, kayaking or rowing with Tilgate Park Watersports, or simply gather your housemates together for a picnic. There are over 400 acres of spots to choose from!

Horsham Market

Just one train stop away from Crawley, you’ll find the historic market town of Horsham, which has a great market every Thursday in the Carfax. Loads of delicious food from both local farms and more exotic munch from further afield. There are also some lovely stalls selling handmade jewellery, homewares and vintage records. On Saturdays, the market is on again, accompanied by a bit of music on the bandstand – which can be anything from an old-skool brass band to some fun local group playing covers of old favourites.

Get Fit at K2 Leisure Centre

The K2 is famous for miles around for its huge gym, swimming pool and awesome climbing wall. Whether you’re lifting weights, swimming lengths or scaling new heights, K2 is a great place to go for either fun with friends or for a bit of healthy ‘me-time’.

A Day Out in Brighton

Nothing can beat a trip to Brighton for some fun in the sun! During the summer months, the city comes to life with a huge range of stuff to do throughout the day and night. Join the crowds for sunbathing on the beach, take a stroll down the pier, or ride the British Airways i360 for a birds-eye view of the bustling promenade. By night, Brighton boasts the best nightlife in the south east, with bars and clubs a-plenty. If you want to make memories with your housemates, Brighton is the best!

These six examples are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things to do in Crawley. So, as well as having some great friends to hang out with in your Crawley houseshare, you can also be sure of a whole lot of fun wherever you go together.
